Sonsoles, from Madrid, Spain, completed her undergraduate studies at Francisco de Vitoria University. Before beginning her doctoral studies, she worked as a Research Assistant at the Center for Functional Cancer Epigenetics (CFCE) at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Biochemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology at Georgetown University.

Outside the laboratory, she enjoys exploring theology, experimenting with cooking, reading, and horseback riding.
